Maybelline Super Stay 24 hour Foundation Review / First Impression

This foundation says:

It's has a micro - Flex Formula with non-transfer (won't rub off), flawless, breathable all day comfort wear foundation. Which can last for 24 hours. With a SPF 19 and is for ALL skin types, as it's oil free and doesn't clog pores which is also heat, sweat and humidity resistant. THAT'S ALOT OF PROMISES..... SO IS THIS TRUE???

My First Thoughts:

Great packaging, simple, clean. I love it when high street/ drug store foundations have a pump. Not a great colour range when I shopped for this foundation. When i tested it in the store it on my hand, smooth formula and very blendable, lets see if it does what it says what it does on the bottle.

Colour Range:

Left to Right: Sand, Light Beige, Ivory, Cameo, Nude Beige, Fawn and Sun Beige.

The colour selection is really limited. When I went to my local boots there were only 6/7 shades. Because I'm quite pale I was quite disapointed with the lighter shades as there was only 2 and the shade above (Ivory) was very tanned and yelllow based. There was a huge difference between every shade, either to dark or to light. I choose the colour 005 Light Beige which has a pink under tones and matched me perfectly, which is very rare for the high street/drug store. All the foundations were either very yellow tones or too pink, so always use a tester on your cheek before purchasing, you may even feel tempted to buy two shades and mix them together because I was thinking about it.

Packaging:

Glass Bottle with a pump.

How did I apply this?

In the picture above I used 2 1/2 pumps of foundation with a MAC 190 brush. It blended well, and when i ''pushed'' the foundation into this skin using a patting motion it covered my spots, redness and discolouration. The foundation dried quite quickly with a satin-matte finish and gave me a medium/buildable coverage.

In this picture (taken with my iphone 5, in natural light no flash) I had the foundation on for 5 minutes: (NO EDITING) (11:58am)

This picture I had the foundation on for 5 hours (NO touchng up with powder as I have a oily t-zone and no editing whats so ever). (5pm)

I used my Nikon to take this photo (with flash), so the quailty is much better. As you can see i'm a little oily on t-zone but I knew that would happen but so far, im impressed, it was a warm day today and I was nervous but foundations looks very dewy in person not oily.

This picture is just before I took my makeup off, so a total of 11 hours (11:01pm)

Again I used my Nikon and just about to take my makeup off, and overall im a little oily in my t-zone. Camera isn't really picking up oily t-zone, but the rest of my skin still looks dewy. If I had powdered I don't think i would look this oily, but impressed and happy with my purchase.  I have very dry cheeks and a oily t-zone, the foundation didn't pick up my dry skin and didn't show any of my t-zone until 5 hours of wear.  Even though I used 2 1/2 pumps of foundtion I didn't look or feel like my skin was ''cakey''. But for 11 hours of wear VERY IMPRESSED!!!!!!

Price:

I paid £8.99 for this foundation, but maybelline ALWAYS have 3 for 2 in Boots (UK Beauty store) so if you want tio try this foundation I recommend you buy it with a 3 for 2 offer as maybelline do a great range of items.

Would I use it again??

YES!! I wore this foundation for 11 hours and thats without powdering or touching up my makeup. Maybe it might be my skin type but i'm very happy. I will use this foundation for 2 weeks and will make another blog post. I think overall for a high street/drug store foundation it gets 9/10 for staying power, coverge, long wear and blending.

Gel nails - Professional Nail Beauty - Cardiff - review.

Professional gelish nails by Professional nail beauty in Cardiff

Hot Rod - Red. Painted on 07/09/13

Two weeks after treatment
14 days ago, I had my first manicure with Professional Nails Beauty in Cardiff to have Gel nails rather than traditional nail polish or false nails I desided to go for gel and I am VERY happy with the results. I had my nails done with the lovely Lauren Bevan (on Twitter @purplelittlebun) and because of her servce and skills I would recommend and will go back!!!!

Professional Nail Beauty in Cardiff are a small nail salson in a town in Whitchurch. They currently above a hairdressers called AZTEC not many people know about them and I only found them by chance through Yell.com. And because of this i'm making a blog post for them as there services were so great and helpful it's only far I help with word of the internet!!

They also have a Instgram @pronailbeauty, facebook and website. Or in doubt just google there name :)

Similar to Shelac, Gelish is a gel treatment that is applied similar to nail polish. After the application, Gelish is cured / dried under a UV lamp. The polish is dried as soon as your manicure is finished - no worries about ruining your nails on the way out of the salon. It is applied over your own nails, so it shouldn't be as hard on your nails as artificial gel nails (or so I've been told). What sold me on this product was how much the staff at the salon were raving about it. Many of them had given up on manicures, because they only got chipped at work or their nails were so short and soft that they didn't grow. My nails stopped cooperating with me as soon as the cold weather arrived. They split and peel constantly. They were getting so short that they were literally peeling into the pink part of my nail. It was becoming painful. Someone in work was telling me that she only uses the Gelish clear coat. She is a nail biter; this has allowed her nails to grow. When she feels like using nail polish, she uses traditional colour polish on top of the Gelish and then uses an acetone free polish to remove it. The Gelish is still fine underneath. So if your nervous about having one nail colour for 3 weeks this could be an idea.

I love dark nail polish, but hate the chips that inevitably come within a day or two (if I'm lucky) of doing my nails. I use OPI colours and always do a base coat, 2 coats of polish and a top coat. While it lasts better than if I don't do all the steps, it still doesn't last like this one has. Even after 10 days, my nails look great. They are as shiney as they were the first day I had them done. The only thing that looks a little different is that I have a small amount of growth at my cuticle. It is very slight and my nails look fine. The salon told me that most people can go 3 weeks between manicures, as long as I don't mind a little bit of growth. If the colour was really light, the 3 weeks wouldn't be an issue at all. With the darker colour, I'll have to see whether I can go a full 3 weeks. Obviously the drawback is that you have to really like the colour on your nails until you have it removed.

Did it hurt?

Nope, Lauren (one of the staff) explained step by step on what she was doing and I felt so comfortable and didn't feel a thing! Even with my thin delitcate nails. (as I had my false nails removed and had gel applied over my nails)

How long do they last?.

On average they are know to last three weeks, the good thing about gelish when your natural nails start to grow the gelish mail polish will grow with it.

Colour range available at the salon.

There was so many to pick from, beacuse I went to Professional nail beauty in Cardiff. I had a choice of OPI Gel Nails, Gelish and Shelac. But I picked Gelish - Hot Rod this gorgaus hot blood red (very on tend and super popular for auturn and festive holidays)

Are they worth it??

I personally think so, and I will become a regular customer at this salon, simply for the lovely service, amazing quailty nail service

What price did I pay???

I paid £25 thats for my false nails to be removed and my gel nails appiled on top

BARGAIN!!!!!!!!!

Would I have the, re-done??

YES!!!!! and I will :)

As always I would like to thank for, for taking the time to read my honest blog review. The Salon/Lauren did not pay me to make this review, it's just my honest thoughts and feelings because they need to be recognised. The team are so lovely and caring that I would recommend them. I hope people reading this would check them out and say Danni sent you. I'm going back, thats for sure!!!!

Benefit They'e Real Mascara Review.

Benefit They're Real Mascara Review.

I’m a bit late in reviewing this mascara as it has already got an army of fans after its launch earlier this summer! But as always, better late than never!

When reading online, They’re Real Mascara promises to lengthen, volumise and provide incredibly black lashes. Benefit are a great unique brand that do have some good products – such as Coralista Blusher and Bad Gal Lash – which can also be a little bit hit-and-miss. Luckily, I’m pleased to say that I’m joining the fans with this mascara!

Because I am truly in LOVE with this mascara!!!! What an amazing difference between my normal mascara and this one. When I went into Benefit, I honestly didn't think I would pick up this mascara. I have heard so many reviews about this mascara, and seen amazing 'before' and 'after' photos I really wanted to see if this mascara was truly amazing as they say. Because to me this mascara was like all the rest and wouldn't make any difference to my eye lashes.

WOW I WAS WRONG!!

Look at MY before and after photos, tell me if you agree and see the difference!!

With Benefit They're Real Mascara on Bottom Left Picture
(Eye lashes were curled before hand with MAC eye lash curlers)

And this picture is with my complete eye makeup look using They're Real Marsara, my eyelashes are much fuller and longer.

There is one HUGE down side to this amazing mascara.

And that's the price tag!!! It cost me £19.50!!

To me that's a lot of money to spend on a mascara when I usually get a 'drug store' mascara which doesn't cost me more than £8.99, but you get what you pay for and I honestly LOVE this mascara and I would seriously buy another one when this one runs out.

This is now my number 1 mascara and I should just throw out my other mascaras as I haven't touched them since after buying this mascara.
As always I bought this item 100% with my own money and no company has sent me this item to review.

Hope you enjoyed this review
