HIGH END vs LOW END - cheek stains (saving you money, time and looking round)

High End vs Low End

Hi guys, this is a post where I have searched though makeup stores, trying to find High end products and finding a dupe (an item that is similar to a high end product but much cheaper) from a 'drug store'/high street. So you guys can save money, and don't have to look :)

This week its Cheek and Lip Stains:

Benefit Posietint

(From Debenhams RRP: £24.50)

vs

MEMEME Poppy Tint

(From Superdrug RRP: £5.25)

These items do the exact same job but one is High End and the other is Low End, they are both Lip and Cheek Stain which last for hours, to prove a point I actually went to work wearing Benefit Posietint on one cheek and MeMeMe poppy tint on the other and you couldn't see or notice the difference. Even the packaging is the same, and the name is a like.

I actually really like the MEMEME poppy tint, and I have used this one a lot more than my benefit posietint, and it's value for money.

I know which one I would pick, no point spending £19.25 extra when you can walk into superdrug or go online and get the same item for a lot cheaper.

So this week the Low end (high street item) WINS

Hope you like this post

These items were bought 100% out of my own money, I do not get paid for reviewing or comparing these items!!

How I wash my makeup brushes with Sigma Dry n Shape and DUPE cleaning glove!!

How I wash my makeup brushes

Hi guys just a small post to show you how I currently wash my makeup brushes, I've had a few questions on what "glove" I use to clean my brushes and how I use my Sigma dry n shape. As you know you should "deep clean" your makeup brushes at least once a week otherwise when you use your brushes to apply foundations/eye shadows etc it can/will collect a lot of bacteria and when you use the brushes you will be applying bacteria onto your face will may cause Infection or spots

It's very simple to "deep clean" your brushes. You will need:

1) dirty makeup brushes
2) warm water
3) baby shampoo/ gentle cleanser
4) (optional) a Silicone oven glove £4 or SIGMA cleaning glove $40/£35
5) (optional) Sigma dry n shape or brush guards.

These are my dirty brushes.

My £4 SIGMA DUPE cleaning glove (Silicone oven mit)

I like to start off my washing all my brushes with plain warm water, so if any stubborn foundation, concealer or lipstick are stuck into the bristles the warm water should help remove it.

After I've quickly cleaned my brushes with warm water I like to wet the oven mit and apply a small amount of baby shampoo.

I like to start in the centre of the mit, so when I do wiping motions the brush bristles can be deeply cleaned with the groves of the oven mit, insuring all the makeup is removed. Sometimes the makeup can be very hard to be removed and I might have to apply more shampoo. But do not be to rough when cleaning the bristles as the bristles(hairs) may fall out and to always remember to keep the head downwards to prevent water seeping into the barrel.

As you can see the in this pictures I've just doing gentle wiping motions over the groves of the oven mit insuring all makeup is being removed.

I then just rinse out all the soap with warm water and then run it over the mit to make sure it's all clean.

When all clean, I then gentle arrange all the fibres back together while squeezing the excess water from the bristles.

I then put the brush into my Sigma dry n shape. Which makes my brushes dry a lot faster than laying n down. On average all my makeup brushes dry within 3 hours instead of over night.

I carry on with all my brushes, and then place the dry n shape upside down (as you can see in pervious picture) which makes the brushes dry even faster.

I hope you enjoyed this little post and hope you find it useful. The sigma cleaning glove is £35/$40 and I bought my oven mit for £4 a bargain and does the same job.
