Gel nails - Professional Nail Beauty - Cardiff - review.

Professional gelish nails by Professional nail beauty in Cardiff

Hot Rod - Red. Painted on 07/09/13

Two weeks after treatment
14 days ago, I had my first manicure with Professional Nails Beauty in Cardiff to have Gel nails rather than traditional nail polish or false nails I desided to go for gel and I am VERY happy with the results. I had my nails done with the lovely Lauren Bevan (on Twitter @purplelittlebun) and because of her servce and skills I would recommend and will go back!!!!

Professional Nail Beauty in Cardiff are a small nail salson in a town in Whitchurch. They currently above a hairdressers called AZTEC not many people know about them and I only found them by chance through Yell.com. And because of this i'm making a blog post for them as there services were so great and helpful it's only far I help with word of the internet!!

They also have a Instgram @pronailbeauty, facebook and website. Or in doubt just google there name :)

Similar to Shelac, Gelish is a gel treatment that is applied similar to nail polish. After the application, Gelish is cured / dried under a UV lamp. The polish is dried as soon as your manicure is finished - no worries about ruining your nails on the way out of the salon. It is applied over your own nails, so it shouldn't be as hard on your nails as artificial gel nails (or so I've been told). What sold me on this product was how much the staff at the salon were raving about it. Many of them had given up on manicures, because they only got chipped at work or their nails were so short and soft that they didn't grow. My nails stopped cooperating with me as soon as the cold weather arrived. They split and peel constantly. They were getting so short that they were literally peeling into the pink part of my nail. It was becoming painful. Someone in work was telling me that she only uses the Gelish clear coat. She is a nail biter; this has allowed her nails to grow. When she feels like using nail polish, she uses traditional colour polish on top of the Gelish and then uses an acetone free polish to remove it. The Gelish is still fine underneath. So if your nervous about having one nail colour for 3 weeks this could be an idea.

I love dark nail polish, but hate the chips that inevitably come within a day or two (if I'm lucky) of doing my nails. I use OPI colours and always do a base coat, 2 coats of polish and a top coat. While it lasts better than if I don't do all the steps, it still doesn't last like this one has. Even after 10 days, my nails look great. They are as shiney as they were the first day I had them done. The only thing that looks a little different is that I have a small amount of growth at my cuticle. It is very slight and my nails look fine. The salon told me that most people can go 3 weeks between manicures, as long as I don't mind a little bit of growth. If the colour was really light, the 3 weeks wouldn't be an issue at all. With the darker colour, I'll have to see whether I can go a full 3 weeks. Obviously the drawback is that you have to really like the colour on your nails until you have it removed.

Did it hurt?

Nope, Lauren (one of the staff) explained step by step on what she was doing and I felt so comfortable and didn't feel a thing! Even with my thin delitcate nails. (as I had my false nails removed and had gel applied over my nails)

How long do they last?.

On average they are know to last three weeks, the good thing about gelish when your natural nails start to grow the gelish mail polish will grow with it.

Colour range available at the salon.

There was so many to pick from, beacuse I went to Professional nail beauty in Cardiff. I had a choice of OPI Gel Nails, Gelish and Shelac. But I picked Gelish - Hot Rod this gorgaus hot blood red (very on tend and super popular for auturn and festive holidays)

Are they worth it??

I personally think so, and I will become a regular customer at this salon, simply for the lovely service, amazing quailty nail service

What price did I pay???

I paid £25 thats for my false nails to be removed and my gel nails appiled on top

BARGAIN!!!!!!!!!

Would I have the, re-done??

YES!!!!! and I will :)

As always I would like to thank for, for taking the time to read my honest blog review. The Salon/Lauren did not pay me to make this review, it's just my honest thoughts and feelings because they need to be recognised. The team are so lovely and caring that I would recommend them. I hope people reading this would check them out and say Danni sent you. I'm going back, thats for sure!!!!
